The SEAL’s Angel

About the Book by Petie McCarty

The SEAL’s Angel is the third story in the Mystery Angel Romance [MAR] series. Each stand-alone love story in the series has an angel hidden in the plot, and the angel’s identity isn’t revealed until the finale — unless the reader figures it out first.

Seal's Angel Cover ArtIn The SEAL’s Angel, Navy SEAL Sean MacKay’s teammate is murdered after stealing a deadly nerve-gas formula from Syrian terrorists. Naval Intelligence believes MacKay’s teammate was a traitor and shipped the stolen formula to his sister in the states for safekeeping. MacKay is given orders to find the sister before the terrorists do and to retrieve the stolen formula at all costs.

Foreclosure looms for Cory Rigatero as she fights to keep her rustic resort near Mt. St. Helens afloat after her brother deserted her to join the SEAL Teams. Cory’s whole world dives into a tailspin when Sean MacKay shows up at her resort with the news of her brother’s death and the wild suspicion her brother may have sent her traitorous classified documents. No way will Cory trust MacKay — the man who once seduced her and then vanished into the night without a trace.

Visit with Lisa Belcastro

Thanks for inviting me to visit with Lilac Reviews. I’m a huge lilac fan, having acquired fourteen varieties so far. Now I can add “Lilac Reviews” to my collection.  😉

Autho Photo Lisa BelcastroI love connecting with readers, whether in person or through social media. As much as I appreciate and need the Internet and computer, I truly enjoy the one-on-one, or face-to-face, meetings. I wish there were more opportunities, but I do seize every chance I get.

Living on Martha’s Vineyard, we have a high season with lots of tourists, a.k.a. potential readers. With the exception of my Christmas novellas, I release my books in early summer, including my latest, A Dream for Love.

Talking and connecting on a personal level is the best way to introduce my books to all these lovely tourists looking for a souvenir to take home with them. Every Wednesday throughout the summer I set up a table at the Chilmark Flea Market. Hundreds of Island visitors stroll through the grounds, and I’m lucky enough to meet many of them and talk about their vacation, where they’re from, and what they like to read.

Review: If You Believe

Sometimes love only comes once in a lifetime. For some lucky people, it is possible to love again.

Melody and Jack had shared an unforgettable love story that abruptly came to an end. Melody, left picking up the pieces, finds herself alone years later, with no hope or desire to date again. With the holiday season approaching, Melody finds it particularly difficult to get Jack out of her thoughts.

Jack isn’t sure if he’s an angel or a ghost, but his mind is set on one thing only, finding a new love for Melody by Christmas Eve at midnight.  Easier said than done, with many obstacles to tackle, Jack underestimates how difficult the task is. With conflicting emotions, Jack takes it upon himself to find a man for a woman he still loves.

With the clock ticking as the holidays approach, this charming story of finding love the second time around will have you laughing and crying, but ultimately, it will have you believing in true love.

Book Trailer

Review by Felita Daniels  \  150 Pages

This is a delightful story and a light, easy read. When you truly love someone, you want them to be happy. This story is a beautiful example of this.

I have to say that Jack’s first attempts seemed pretty pathetic. He thinks he can just ‘go to the mall’ and pick someone out? Matchmaking is a true skill. There’s a little reality here of the pitfalls and obstacles of dating. He has a time constraint also.

This was a clean story. Some might get a tear in their eyes at places, but you don’t necessarily need a whole box of tissues. I was concerned with the page length, that this might be one of the new books that leaves you with a big cliff hanger. This was not the case, which I was happy about. There is a sense of resolution and closure.

Certainly there might be another story down the road about some of the characters, Trent and Cassie maybe? A different holiday for Melody and ______________? I don’t want to give anything away.

A Stolen Season“You will have to sleep with him.” Richard threw his cheroot into the unlit hearth. “I thought you planned on doing that anyway. You like him, and he obviously likes you, so what’s the problem? It’s not like you’re a virgin.”

Sarah shushed him and sat down on the opposite chair. “That’s not the point. I can’t just jump his bones; women of this era don’t work that way. He has to court me, woo me.” She sighed at Richard’s disgusted expression. “I know it sounds lame, but it’s actually quite nice to have a gentleman sweep you off your feet.”

Review Black Hole Bounty

Author Sienna Bronwyn/ Reviewed by Felita Daniels / 276 Pages

Black Hole Bounty Cover

First Book in the Series

Interestingly, this novel starts out in 1987.  One usually thinks of a science fiction work to be in the future?  But I suppose after you are on another planet, what does the year matter?  The author obviously has an interest in science fiction as her protagonist Jerusa mentions and references characters, books, and movies from that genre.  She is a self- proclaimed average brownie-baking mom. Upon her abduction she cries foul, there’s no reason for their interest in her.  Well, as the story goes on… she did have several hints through her life that she wasn’t really what you would call average.

She finds herself smack dab in the middle of a war on another planet.  Who is telling the truth, what do they want from her, who can she trust?  How can she escape? Oh, and how do these creatures mate?  The first blurb I read about this was that it was a sci-fi romance.  On one of the first title pages when I began reading I saw the label ‘erotic romance.’ Oops, wasn’t sure I was up for that!  However, I kept turning the pages.  The science fiction and adventure are the backbone of this work.  There are some explicit bedroom scenes but they are part of the storyline of the races characteristics, and how healing can be done. In this alien environment where she is dragged around like a pawn, does anyone around her begin to care for her?

Even though the kitchen kept calling for me to come clean it, I stayed in the living room chair reading while it rained outside. This was a well-plotted adventure with an interesting woman.  She’s not Wonder Woman (never saw her puke in an episode), but she has spunk and tries to be a good person as she is making difficult decisions. I really enjoyed this book.  If you like Farscape mixed with a little Red Shoes Diaries you will enjoy this book too. Continue reading
