The Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle

Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle Cover ArtThis is the second entry in the Readaholics Book Club Mystery series by Laura DiSilverio. This author has four other series with about three books in each. So she is well immersed in the mystery field. All the elements are here. There are friends, family, community members, a touch of romantic entanglement, a loved one under suspicion and motives all around. The amateur sleuth Amy- Faye Johnson is an event planner. There’s a dash of that industry here also.

My disappointment in this work was that in using the book club backdrop the author has many references to the Agatha Christie novel Murder on the Orient Express that are spoilers for anyone that hasn’t read that work yet. I feel there are many ways she could have discussed elements of the book, the setting, time period, the detective, etc. without giving away the ending. So my recommendation is that if you have had Murder on the Orient Express in your pile of TBR (to be read) pile, move it to the top to enjoy before you read The Readaholics and the Poirot Puzzle. I was provided a copy of the book to read and write an honest review.
